Add a Network Share into "Shared Folders" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm testing out WHS for my parrents house and I've come to really enjoy the add-ins that it has available not to mention the automatic backups of my home PC's. However I've found one problem that I'm hoping is a setting I'm missing or one of these nice add-ins someone has written.

I have a file server at my house which hosts... files.... pictures, music, videos, etc... I really REALLY dont want to have to migrate my RAID array over to WHS just to use the fancy "Shared Folders" built into WHS. Has anyone found a way to simply map a link in the WHS shares to point to a drive over a network share?

  • You can store a shortcut to a network share on a different server in your server shares, but that's it. You can't make those network shares on the other server participate in any of the Windows Home Server functionality.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
