Forum NNTP bridge - login fails

Question
-
I just try to get the Dec08 Beta of the NNTP forum bridge to work (on Windows 7). But I am not able to successfully pass the Live.com login.
First my password was too long for beeing entered in the password filed. I changed it using the live.com web interface to one with 12 characters. But if I enter my ID and the password I only get the error message:
[ID] failed to log-on!
Error Msg: Network Error: Please check the network connection and try again.
Error Code: 0x80048820
Error Detail: PPCRL_REQUEST_E_AUTH_SERVER_ERROR
Looks like there is a problem on establishing the SSL/TLS connection?
I searched the net on this error but did not found a suitable solution - does anybody have an idea what causes this error?

Hi Win-J,
I just tried this and was able to log on to the production server so the backend infrastructure is up and running. Do you mean the Dec 09 Beta? Can you logon to the forums via the web user interface? For example, can you open this page (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/announce/threads) and click the sign-in link in the upper right corner? Can you provide any additional information? What kind of live account do you use (live, passport, hotmail)?
Thanks!

Forum login works as you can see - and after retrying the software it suddenly works as expected - really wired.
BTW: The used account is pretty old. From my notes about it I assume that it is a Passport or MSNMessenger account.- Marked as answer by Ed Price - MSFTMicrosoft employee Friday, April 20, 2012 11:32 PM

The only problem I had was to find this forum in the newsgroup hierarchy.
The I noticed that I the relevant name is hidden in the url:

Is there an rignt answer for the problem? I have the issue which is similar to what you have faced, I'm still concerned about it.
