Vail Connector Password issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have recently moved homes, and hence my vail server has moved with me.

Now I cannot connect to the server via RDC or using the connector.

I attempt to reinstall the connector and it just says my server password is wrong, none of my settings have changed.

This happened on both my win7 64 and 32 bit boxes.

I can still browse my files using the guest account.

The only thing i can think is that i may have missed a router setting after having to do a hard reset on my router, is this possible?

    What else could it be?

    Thanks In Advance

  • Did your server loose it's time and date settings (maybe empty or shaked battery on the mainboard)?

If so, this could be a reason.

  • I do not know what your setup is but few random thoughts that may or may not be of help.

If you attach a monitor to the server can you login locally to the console?. If its not a headless unit, this will confirm that there is no error in your password.

Did you change the password just prior to the move and are remembering the old password rather than the new one.

Are the two workstations independent or do they share a common keyboard and mouse through a KVM switch?.  Maybe a faulty key that just happens to be one of the characters used in the administrator password on the server.

If you type into notepad on the workstations, are they are they echoing the characters you expect?.
