Vail SDK: Where? RRS feed

  • Question

  • So is it still possible to develop stuff for WHS 2011? The SDK download links are all broken, presumably in a mad rush to remove every downloadable thing from connect once this went RTM. I know that development for v1 required access to the product itself in order to filch the proper DLL's. Is this also required for 2011? Since there's no eval version, presumably then our only option is to purchase it (someday maybe)? How about at least broadening access to MSDNAA (I'm a university prof and thus I have access to this)?

I'd like to upgrade an add-in for 2011, but it sure ain't easy.

  • Okay, I'll answer my own question in case someone actually wants an answer to this.

In combining the WHS and Server groups, MS created a merged SDK for "Windows Server Solutions." Covers WHS as well as Small Business Server Essentials and Windows Storage Server Essentials.
