What the hell is Microsoft worth

Question
-
There must be a comparable OS to Win 10 that continues to work. It seems as though every update from Microsoft for Windows 10 introduces more problems than it solves. Since the last update I have spent two days trying to get online, get the printer to work.
I have given up, I tried to uninstall the update, it's still there.
It seems that the "professional" people at Microsoft look at a problem with the O.S. with blinkered sight and never look at the overall result of their update.
Bring back the 10 year old's to do the work.
I will be dead and buried before I think about trusting Microsoft.

Might also ask the printer manufacturer for help. Its the manufacturer that is tasked with creating / updating the drivers to work with a given windows version / edition.
