Merge TechNet/Live account with Office 365

Question

Greetings,
Please redirect this question if this isn't the place to ask.
I created this account years ago to access TechNet and other resources. Now we are migrating to Office 365. This account has my work email address associated with it. So, authenticating to O365 I get prompted for "work or school account" or "personal account" when I enter my email addy.
Can I just "add" this account to my O365? If so, how? If not, suggestions? Change the email addy for this account? ??
Thanks,
Steven
