All your solutions assume that I have an operation system in use. That is not the case. Thanks to your company scaring the bejesus out of IT departments worldwide my company sold me my old laptop with out any operating system. I have no C:/prompt-so the only thing I can do is tell the computer to boot from a CD. The only CDs available are for VISTA or WIN 7---neither of which am I interested in-not enough DRAM to operate any of the new OS's- ALL I want is enough connectivity to load a DVD movie viewer and intend to give the computer to my 3 year old grandson so that I can regain control of my TV. I am not interested in seeing one more replay of Dora the Explorer. The Laptop is a Dell Latitude 610-nothing fancy 40Ghz HD 1Meg of RAM. With 1 meg of RAM I really don't need any of the fancy OS's that need a minimum of 2 Meg to operate efficiently. ANY HELP AVAIABLE?
