Money 2004 (version 12) UK/Windows 7 64-bit - Customise function in Reports makes Money freeze RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have successfully been running Money v12 2004 UK on my new Windows 7 64-bit PC for some weeks now.

Yesterday, though, the program started to freeze each time I selected the "Customise" function in Reports mode. The only way i could exit was using Task Manager. I had earlier that day renamed a number of the reports but cannot think of anything else related to reports that I had done. I cannot recall whether I have used "Customise" since installing Money on my new PC. Certainly it worked fine on my old XP 32-bit machine.

Not sure if this makes any difference, but I have Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox installed, Firefox 4 is my default browser.

Any help or ideas much appreciated - this is a crucial bit of functionality: without a working reports function, Money is not that much use to me!

  • I have Money 2004 UK with Firefox 4, IE9 and Chrome beta installed in Windows 7 x64 and have no problem when selecting Customise in Reports Gallery.

Either Money or your Windows 7 installation is damaged.

You can try uninstalling and reinstalling Money 2004. Also, go to All Programs\Accessories\Command Prompt and right click and select Run as administrator. Then run "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes) to check and repair Windows.

The Windows 7 system scan didn't reveal any abnormalities so I uninstalled and reinstalled Money 2004 and that seems to have fixed the problem completely.

Thanks you very much for your help.
