Request: Change font, as well as being able to chose where to place the images. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • One feature I think would do great is if you alow us to change the font right there in writer. No fancy fonts just the ones included on spaces. or better yet, wirter can download the font setttings from the blog service and you can use what ever fonts the blog service uses on the writer. Might be hard, but you guys take info from the blog service anyway. why not this?

another idea would be able to center an image. Right now you have no choice whats so ever where you can place the images. This can help a lot with those professional blogs. I'm setting up a technology blog and I want to be able to center my images in some of my posts....

    thanks for reading...

  • Hi,

In Writer, you can change the font by going to Format -> Font... If you are talking about having a Font button in the toolbar, that is a feature that has been requested and may be included in a future release.

Keep in mind though that the availability of fonts is actually dependent on what people have installed on their computers, which is why the use of fonts tags is discouraged. Please consider using CSS and heading tags to control your blogs fonts and styles.

Directly centering images is already a feature that is available in the latest Technical Preview release of Writer, which can be downloaded from windowslivewriter.spaces.live.com. If you don't wish to install the Tech Preview, you can also center images by clicking in the line that the image is in and selecting Format -> Align -> Center.

    Thanks for your feedback!

ahh I didnt see that. Thanks. I agree a font button in the toolbar is much needed, Look forward to seeing it in the near feature. I understand the font isssue as was just saying offer the most default fonts people would have/use. (ones perhaps that been around since 95).

As for centering images. I also did not know that. A lot of features are hidden and I'm glad you guys are finaly getting them out in the open. Just wish this would have been around from the start as an average user will not know how do to all these technal steps.
