Format error 1,5 GB HDD RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi –
Me too have the same problem when adding a new drive to whs data pool as Vicki and a few others.

I’m trying to add a brand new Western Digital 1,5TB internal hard drive to my HP Proliant MLL115 G5 Server. When I get to Step 6 above, I get an error message “Hard drive initialization failed. The Wizard was unable to create a volume on the hard drive.”

My drive works to format an 1,0Gb och 1,5gg partition and works fine at a friends win7 PC.

When I used the Proliant easy start CD and pointed out win2003 dir at a new install I got a "clean" 2003 server without whs and the 1,5 GB drive worked to format and make an 1,5gb partition.

Is it any whs drivers that override win2003 drivers that I manually can update?

    Any ideas about that?
    Please help.
