Why did folder duplication fail me? RRS feed

    So, one of my drives failed in my WHS server last night.  Since I use 3 drives in my server and have folder duplicaiton enabled on all my shares I wasn't worried.

    Until I tried to pull data off of the server.  I started getting "The device is not connected" on many of the files.  I cannot open them, I cannot copy them, they're listed but they don't seem to exist.

    One single drive failed, shouldn't I be able to access my data since it was duplicated across all 3 drives?  Shouldn't there be at LEAST one good copy duplicated onto the other drives that the server should use?

    It seems like half my data is just lost?!?!  Even though the folders were duplicated?  What went wrong???

    Please login to the WHS console, Storage Tab, then choose to remove the missing disk. After that everything should be back to normal. Please note it may take some time before all files are duplicated again (if you have enough space left for duplication on the other two drives)
