Extra Comments on documents RRS feed

  • Currently when you save a document, you have two options, file name and file type.  I would like to add another option called "comment."  Here you would type a more descriptive nature of the document, something more informative than the file name.

    The comment info would then show up as a popup when you mouseover the document icon (whether it is on your desktop or elsewhere).  

    As such, this feature would allow you to quickly remember more of the document details that may not be provided by the document title alone.

    I spoke to a developer and he said this feature is already available in office 2007 and windows 7.  He said is was a Windows Shell Extension versus an Office Extension.  If this is correct, does anybody know how to activate this feature?
