I've got an upcoming implementation of CRM and the client has informed me they have Exchange but it is running in a different domain and forest to where CRM will be.
In the planning guide it says:
"When you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server in a mixed-mode domain, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM groups will be created by using Global scope. Therefore, resources that must be added to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM groups, such as users or a computer on which Exchange Server is running, must be located in the same domain. Active Directory global groups do not support adding resources from another domain".
Given my limited knowledge of domains, forests and modes, does this mean I won't be able to connect CRM and Exchange via the connector? Does it depend on the mode of CRM's domain?
Any plain English translations of the above and pointers on the way forward would be greatly appreciated.
Its clearly define that you can connect exchange and ms crm but only through email router which need to define the exchange addresses and rule wizards, for more see email router configuration help files.
