CRM workflows and emailing RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I am trying to write a workflow in CRM to send out emails. However I am not sure how CRM exactly works for the Send "To" and "From". In the send "From" can I just enter the {Created by(user)} and will CRM then automatically use the user's email address to send the email. Also, I can't see the customer's email address field in related entity dropdown list. So can I use {Parent Customer(Contact)} for CRM to fetch associated email address?

  • You are actually assigning activity parties.  You should be able to do pretty much as you say.  You will just be picking their contact info or user info.

    I have previously gone through the link you provided. I was expecting to see a field called email address and when I could not see that in the drop down list, I was unsure on where CRM gets the email address from.

    Will give it a try.

  • The From and To fields are lookup controls. For example, you can assign a contact for the To field. The send email step will then use the email address of that contact while sending the email.
