Dynamics CRM 2011 Sample Data RRS feed

  • Question

  • Seems like a simple question. I have a dev environment setup in Hyper V on my laptop but cannot for the life of me find the sample data.

I want to run through the online course and it starts off using the Contoso sample data.

I really don't want to have to migrate from 4.0 so a simple install or even a bak file would be great.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • These are the labs they use in their workshops and on-site learning courses, the organization is not available for download like the AdventureWorks database is for SQL Server.
I recommend to use the sample data and make your own samples as needed during the training, because this will give you a better understanding than just following the videos exactly.

  • Sample data is can be added through the settings:

Og to settings, then click data management. From here select the sample data button and choose to install it.

  • Are you looking to install the sample data for testing purposes?

From inside CRM you can install the samples...

Settings -> Data Management -> Sample Data

  • The Dynamics CRM 2011 Developer Training Kit speaks of a sample company called Contoso and uses it in its labs.

I was hoping to find the organization they were referring to.

If I can't I guess I will need to use the built in Sample Data and adapt.
