users with IE 9 64 bit on windows 7 machine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a few users (not all) that are experiencing Internet Explorer crashes when using CRM through Internet Explorer in a 64 bit browser session on a windows 7 64 bit machine. Has anyone else come across this? The users do not experience the crash when using CRM through Outlook however the experience is slower for them. I have them using the 32-bit internet explorer to see if they still get the crashes.

  • Jennifer,

Did you look in event viewer, into Application section to determine exact module on which IE crashes?

  • You can check any add-ins on the browser, also if you are running Lync there is a process that runs, to check for things like telephone numbers and status of users. This can cause the browser to crash.

  • Yes it does not appear to be related to crm in any way.

I get some weird antimalware, netlogon and zone mapping for IE errors. I have our infrastructure team checking these out.
