Communicator Client Sign-in/Upgraded Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have migrated my IM environment from LCS 2005 to OCS 2007 R2.  Most of the desktop clients in my environment are Communicator 2005.  When I upgrade to the Communicator 2007 client or the Communicator 2007 R2 client I can't sign in unless enhanced presence is enabled. If I enable enhanced presence on the account the account can no longer log in with the Communicator 2005 client.  I have approximately 5000 OCS users spread accross 10 sites so I cant update all of the clients at once.  Is there a way to upgrade to the clients to Communicator 2007 without enabling enhanced presence?

  • No. to enable user to use MOC 2007 you need to enable enhanced presence.

But, if you enable enhanced presence for a user and this user login on MOC 2005 there are no problems, but if this user login a first time in MOC 2007 he can't log more in MOC 2005.
So don't permit which the migrated users login on MOC 2007 before you have upgrade his client.
