I have had my share of issues with Vista I to end buying a new machine. I agree Microsoft Vista is not as good as XP too mem hungry, slower than XP I never been able to get the home network set up right. With XP it was a breez. I think the main issues is Microsoft has been worried about stolen copys that they shafted their true customers.

Hello Grumbyoldlady,
Unfortunately I do not see any WGA questions instead I see venting. Should you have WGA questions please let us know and we will do our utmost best to resolve the problem. Curious did you purchase a new computer with Vista pre-installed OR did you upgrade an existing computer from Windows XP to Vista? If you did the latter did you run the Vista Upgrade advisor located @ http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/default.aspx ? This would be your first step prior upgrading to Vista. This small software tool will scan your computer and create an easy-to-understand report of all known system and device compatibility issues, and recommend ways to resolve them. The Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor can also help you choose the edition of Windows Vista that best fits the way you want to use your computer.Should you have a commercially procurred computer then they would provide the Technical Support for Vista. I would recommend you to call their Technical support and explain what you are experiencing.
Second you mention having problems with the Home Networking feature. Personally I have used the Home Networking feature on Vista Ultimate and Home Premium without any complications whatsoever. Also I have Windows XP Pro in the mix and all communicate really well. After some research I found documents which may assist you with the networking problems you are experiencing. Please visit Windows Vista Network Help and How-to here: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/networking.mspx . Also you may visit the Windows Vista discussion groups at: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.mspx and post your questions and/or search for a proposed resolution.
Hopefully this has shed a positive light on Vista as well as pointing you in a direction for resolutions.
Take care,
Stephen Holm, MS WGA Forum Manager
