Verification email not being sent

So I get the below error message when I try to get a trial version of... anything.
I'm not getting the email.
I've tried a POP mail account and I've tried a Hotmail account. It's not in my spam folder, I don't have an active spam filter, my home isp is not blocking microsoft.com and I have a hard time believing Hotmail is blocking emails from Microsoft.com
When I call Microsoft they say they don't know why it says to contact them if after 3 attempts I don't get the email, because they don't know who is responsible for supporting this issue.

Not sure Dave, we dont support trial emails here. Did you try the
