Windows Media Player Album Art RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since moving my music colletion to the WHS I have been experiencing a corruption issue with the Album Art .JPG files in Windows Media Player 11.  The .WMA files all appear to be OK, it just the Album Art .JPG files.

It's not too difficult to correct, but it's a real pain.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • Hi,

Personally, I haven't, but I now use Firefly on the Server, far more suitable. However, as some picture files utilise the Alternate Data Stream, some people have experienced corruption with them. There is the Microsoft KB, which is available via the Server Team Blog

  • Yes!  Same thing for me. I discovered yersterday about a half of my 400+ albums on Windows Home Server had the art corrupted.  I spent several hours correcting it.  Left the house with the computer on, came back several hours later and discovered corruption again!  This time most the albums.  The corruption is as follows. (1) jpg files containing the album become unreadable.  (2)  The files are readable, but the picture is messed up (ex. bottom half turns to gray.  (3)  Wrong picture (album art changed to different/wrong album, but the picture comes from other album I have).  This will take several hours to correct.
