why Indian Software MNCs are service oriented and not product oriented? RRS feed

  • They are trying to avoid risk. Being service oriented will surely get them money because they have to control only development of product while on the other hand being product oriented makes business risky by adding marketing. Their profit depends on product sale and that is big risk they don't want to take...

  • Yeah Rakshit, u r correct in ur ways.

But it cannot be only the risk factor becoz services depends on the market ,it can be demanding today but outdated after a certain period and this dynamic behaviour is more risky. All the leading companies are opening their Development center in India but Indian companies are opening their services. Isn't it a lack of foresight? or may be a sense of false security. or they don't have enough vision for new products?

  • To sell their products they require breakthrough. They will have to spend more and more money behind advertisements. They also fear piracy of their new product. These reasons make them not to chose product oriented behaviour.

But with such a vast talent pool they shuold have led by example....

All mazor companies are doing mazor R&D work here in India and almost every day new patents are filed for new softwares. But still they  don't have something to start!!! isn't it pathetic?
