SyncToy UI Feedback RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hey I think SyncToy is a great tool.  I have some UI feedback if you don't mind.

First, thank you (!!!) for just placing a single shortcut to yourself in the Start Menu during installation.  It's so annoying when programs that only have a single icon, still feel the need to put themselves into a folder.  It's on the list.

One thing that would probably make it to the UX Style Guide's "don't do" list would be this:  tool tips that appear on top of explanatory text.  It's the same text, so use one method or the other, don't have them cover each other up (I recommend removing the tooltips).

Also, just a semantic item.  "Save overwritten files to the Recycle Bin" would probably be better as "Put..." or "Move..." instead of Save.  The Recycle Bin isn't exactly a "save" or "safe" location.
