Upgraded to Windows 7 through Microsoft Store, copy not geniune

  I purchased my 14 year old cousin a laptop for Christmas 2009. It came with Vista. I upgraded the pc to Windows 7 Home Premium through the Microsoft online Store download.  She called me a month ago saying she receives a message that her copy of Windows 7 is not geniune. I signed into microsoft store.com and my order and product key were still there, so I know I purchased a legit copy.  What's going on ?
