  •  Good Morning Nicola,

Thank you for letting us know you are operational. We really would have liked to review the MGA Diagnostic Tool results so we may have had an opprotunity to resolve the problem you were experiencing. Also it was important if you could have provided the information that your computer's Technical Support staff provided you. This may have prevented you from having to perform a complete system restoration.  We try to resolve problems with the least evasive proceedures possible which would save our customers time as well as minimizing potential data loss. Should you need further WGA assistance please stop by.

Take care and again thank you :-).

  • Hello NICOLA,

I would really like to get a better understanding of this issue so we can better assist not only you but other users with similar problems as well.

Please run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Test (MGADT) so that I may analyze the results.

By clicking the link below, you will download the MGADT.  Then click the Run button. Then click the Run button again. Then click the Continue button to perform the diagnostic. The Windows tab should show, click the Copy button to paste your report to the clipboard.  Then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum by adding a post in it and pressing Ctrl V (to paste the text). Clicking the OK button will clear the Diagnostic window. Here is the download link:

  • Nicola,

Please follow Antron's guidance. This will allow use to see what you are currently experiencing. What did Technical Support tell you regarding XP is non-genuine message? Where did you actually purchase your laptop system from? Did you purchase the laptop from the manufacturer, auction, or another source? The details will help us. In the meantime please visit http://www.howtotell.com and compare your Certificate of Authenticity (COA) sticker and software which you received with the system @ the time of purchase.

Thank you again for visiting the WGA Forum.
