I get to the point in the installation wizard where it asks for a server name. Regardless of the server name I enter (including the nqame "Server" that is the default) , I get an error message saying that name is already in use on the network (which actually isn't true). SO I'm stuck. Any ideas how to resolve this?
I'm assuming that you have the server hooked up to your network. Try disconnecting the server from your network. Then, do a complete/clean install. After you have a good install, then connect the server to the network.

Does your hardware have more than one network cards (this could include also Firewire, if it is detected during setup stage)? If yes, try to disable the unused one in Bios. Best greetings from Germany Olaf
