I have stored all my media files, particularly movie files in AVI (both DiVx and XViD codec), in the video directory on WHS.
The problem I have is the Windows Media Player in Vista SP1 can only stream videos in MPG or WMV. If I try to stream an AVI video, WMP just freezes (or take a long, long time to start playing), whereas it starts playing immediately (that is, streaming) if the file is a MPG or WMV?
I have all the necessary codec on my Vista machine, and the video can be played normally without any problem when the file is played locally.
How do I fix this? Is this a known bug? Will Power Pack 2 fix this?
