Stuffed up IIS RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hi,

I tried installing php on IIS but screwed it up and now the default home server website doesn't work properly. Is it possible to revert back to the defaults? Or is it possible to be sent the orginal configuration ?

    Cheers,

  • TBH, it'll probably be easier and quicker just to reinstall WHS - not an install from new - you'd only need to recreate the user accounts and reinstall any add-ins, all the backups and files would be OK.

  • When you insert the WHS DVD, you should be given the option to do a new installation or a reinstallation. It's one of the earliest screens, suring the initial graphical setup (before text-mode Windows Server 2003). You want to choose a reinstallation, which will preserve files in your storage pool and backups. The text that warns you will lose files if you choose that option is wrong.
