Upgrade MCSA Certification RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Dears,

I have question about upgrading MCITP 2008 certification.

I have MCITP 2008 certification and I wants to upgrade direct to MCSA 2016. Can I do MCSA 2016 direct or I have to take MCSA 2012 then going to MCSA 2016?

Any advice and recommendation from Microsoft will be appreciated.

  • Hi Dana.Kadi.

As far as I know, the only upgrade path to MCSA: Windows Server 2016 requires you to have the MCSA certification for a previous Windows Server version (2008, 2008 R2 or 2012) and to pass the 70-743 exam.

    Bye.

  • Thanks, but you are not sure. Based on Microsoft link in below it is allowed but I need to be sure before I go to exam.

The page for the 70-743 exam states that the exam is for candidates that have already earned an MCSA: Windows Server 2008 or MCSA: Windows Server 2012 R2 certification.
You can upgrade your MCITP: Windows Server 2008 to MCS: Windows Server 2008 by passing the exam 70-417.

    Bye
