Can we add extension and deploy to CRM 2011 trial version? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I wanted to know if we can create extensions (for example a plugin) using the CRM 2011 trial version.

Anyone know if it's possible? And if we can, is it a matter of me downloading CRM 2011 developer toolkit and deploying it that way as I can't see how else to deploy with my limited knowledge.

    Thank You.

  • The trial shouldn't limit you in that respect.

Deploying from the Developer Tooolkit does make it easy - otherwise you can also use the Plugin Registration tool that also comes with the SDK.

  • I downloaded the developer toolkit. There is this popup (Connect to Dynamics CRM Server) dialog which is asking for username/password. While setting up CRM trial it never asked for password.

How do we retrieve a user password (if that's possible)?

  • Hi,

if you are using CRM online you need to enter your live id and password that you used to create trial account or if you are using on-premise you need to enter your system username and password.

  • Thanks.

I am using on-premise. I have the username but no password. I tried using the password that I initially created when downloading trial but it's invalid. Is there is a way to retrieve the user password within CRM?
