CRM 2011 on-premise: Different total amount of records in web - Outlook client

Question

Hello Forum
I have a strange behaviour with the total amount of records in accounts and/or contacts. It shows me a different amount in web than in Outlook (differs just a few). Does anybody have a solution for that problem?
Thanks!

Advanced Find work properly. Deleting Outlook Cache didn't help. What helped was to configure the organization newly with configuration wizard!

Questions often get a better response when they provide some basic information that could help someone else pinpoint the cause of your issue.
For example:
- What version of CRM and Outlook are you running?
- Are you using CRM for Outlook with Offline Access?
- What Update Rollup is installed on the client and the server?
- What security roles are associated with your user account?
- What view are you using in CRM for Outlook and what view are you using in the CRM web client?
- What is the total number of records in the view when using CRM for Outlook and what is the total number of records in the view when using CRM web client?
- Have you tried the same view in Advanced Find, what was the total number of records?
- Do other users experience the same issue, or is the problem limited to just you?

Hi,
Are you able to provide screenshots of what you are seeing in both environments?

Hi Neil
Thanks!
It's CRM 2011 on-premise, UR13 and Office 2010 without Offline functionality. The user is sysadmin and we compared the standard views active accounts and/or contacts. Both have a small difference from 2-5 records and it's both belows 1000 records (total).
Kind regards and thanks

If you have pinned the view in CRM for Outlook, the view will be cached. So the number could be different from the web client.
Can you try using Advanced Find in both clients to see how many accounts are returned?

I was just about to write what Neil wrote...
If your count is more than 10.000, then in IE it will be limited to 10.000 per default.
If you pin a view in Outlook, a pinned view can contain unlimited records as it is cached as Neil wrote.
If the count is LESS than 10.000, then I have no idea as to why and most likely you would find the issue in your query.

I just saw your answer .... missed in the first time around.
I have no idea as to why your count is different, if you are below 1000 records... Then it shouldnt be the caching.
