Reactivating an Opportunity Creates a "Duplicate" Case [CRM 2011] [Workflow] RRS feed

  • I have a workflow that create a case when the opportunity is won. But if the Sales folks reactivate the opportunity (for post-negotiation price adjustments, etc.), the workflow creates another case when they "re-win" the opportunity. Not unexpected but can it be prevented?

  • Not without some tweaking M Linhardt. I would use a custom field (simple flag) that the workflow checks before creating the case. The first time it runs, the flag is empty, the case gets created and the flag updated. The second time it runs the flag is filled in, the workflow stops.
