AD groups to contacts RRS feed

  • I am trying to set up groups in AD that represent different business units. The problem I am having is that when you add users to a group, this is not refected in the client.

     

    I also noticed that if i delete the group from communicator and re-add it, it still doesnt pick up the new user.

     

    Any ideas?

    The client should have picked up the changes by now!

  • Yes it did pick it up. How long does this typically take?

  • It is the Addressbook service that runs every night, and creates new addressbook files with changes

    Shedule is 1h30 AM by default and can be changed with ABSConfig.exe from resource kit

     

    After that the clients need to download the new changes in the addressbook that also happens daily

  • I have run into a problem when using AD groups in your contact list.  If you drag the group from the search box into your contact list, all the name for that group show up, which is correct.  Problem is if you are having a IM or conference with 2 people and you hit 'invite' to add another, none of the names from the group you dragged from the search box are displayed.  From the invite window you can search for them, but they don't display like they would if it was a group you created.  Any ideas why they do not show?
