Cannot UNC to server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm having an oddball issues that I've not seen thus far:

When trying to UNC to a server (\\servername\) from one of my domain joined workstations (WKS1), I get a network error popup stating that Windows cannot access \\servername\, which then offers to diagnose the problem (which never usually helps). The odd thing is that I can access 'servername' from every other workstation in my office except WKS1. Also, from WKS1 I can access all other servers in my domain except 'servername'.

    I have tried the usual:

-Use servername IP instead of hostname
    -Flush DNS
-Turn on File and Print sharing on all networks
-Make sure all firewalls are OFF on both WKS1 and servername
-Make sure network settings are correct for IPv4 (WKS1 is using DHCP and getting the same leases as other workstations)
-Make sure NETBIOS service is running / restart the service
    -Disable IPv6
    -Disable/re-enable NIC
    -Reboot PC
-Login to WKS1 as domain admin

Any ideas what to try next?
