Office Genuine Advantage validation error 80180101 says Office xP not activated RRS feed

  • Question

  • After installing a new wireless network adapter I get the above error message and the 5-pointed blue star.  Office xp Standard was installed and activated about 5 years ago and has been working without problem.  I am sure it is genuine.  All updates also installed.  I also have Outlook 2003.  If I go to help, activate product in Word or Excel they tell me it is already activated.

  • Hello johnghk,

In cases where a longtime-activated Office XP installation suddenly shows that it is not activated, using the Office XP solution in Method 2 in this MS KB article usually takes care of the situation:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903275/en-us

Post back to let us know if it worked for you! :-)
