  • Question

  • Hi,

I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 Professional because of a virus that I couldn't seem to kick with other methods. This copy was download from a MSDN account through my school and I really need this PC to continue to do school work. Is there a way to fix this issue without having to buy a product key? I hope so because I am broke college student and don't have to have to install a Linux OS to finish school work when my trial period ends. I included the MGAD data, since I had seen someone mention it in another post.

  • The current installation is not activated.

The problem is that the MAK License has been activated as many times as it is allowed to - so you'd need to contact the System Admin at the college to see what to do about it.

You should be able to extend the Grace Period by rearming it - but wait until the current period is almost run out before doing so (i.e a couple of days before the current 28-day limit) so that you get full benefit of it. You'll also be able to do it once moere without any problem, so that'll get you through the summer  :)

Open an Elevated Command Prompt window, and use the following command

     CSCRIPT SLMGR.VBS /rearm

once it's completed, reboot and you should have another 30 days to play:)
