MCTS & MCITP Clarification RRS feed

    Hi All,

    I wish to clarify what is required to get MCTS and MCITP certification.

    I know that doing MCTS exams i.e Exam 70-680 will get me an MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration, It seems to me that the MCTS exams are individual exams that get you an MCTS in that field where as a MCITP is a combination of MCTS exams and is a Base Certification linked to Job Duties i.e MCITP: Server Administrator.

    I would like to know what Exam Path will lead me to the following.

    • MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows 7
    • MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator on Windows 7
    • MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008

    Finally, I noticed that some of the exams are not available to be earnt after a certain date i.e July 31, 2013, What happens if i complete 3 out of 5 exams by this date, do i have to start with the new modules from scratch or will my previous exams be recognised and transfer across.

    Any Assistance to clarify the above would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    you will get an overview about the MCITP exam paths on the following site - http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcitp.aspx#tab2

    If you haven't complete the MCITP certification until this date you have to start from scratch if you want to earn one of the new exams. If you have done all MCTSs for a MCITP you have to pass the upgrade exam(s).
