MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 Device CAL- How to consume the same?

Question
-
Need some clarifications regarding MS CRM Dynamics 4.0 DEVICE CAL and its usage.
We know that "Device CAL"is tied with any Device\Machine (i.e., CRM can be accessed by different users from that particular device) , but can you pls let us know how these can be used\registered as we have around 50 device CALs unutilized till date. Does this require to create a domain ID for required machine in local active directory? We have been using User CALs and know how to register the same(as same option appears while creating any user on "User Creation" form).
Any help regrading the same is highly appreciable.

Go look at the licensing and pricing guide: http://crmdynamics.blob.core.windows.net/docs/Pricing_Licensing_Guide.pdf
As to my knowledge, there is no way to define a device cal. This is a "official" terminology from MS, that they have no way to follow up on. It just allows you to have a number of concurrent users.

Thank you for the clarification. Adding to my previous query...
Knowing that Device CAL can be used by multiple users on same machine, please clarify how can we differentiate between Device and User CALs?Say in the given scenario if we have 150 Users CAL and 50 Device CAL available and currently total 170 users are registered. Now, 20 users are using 10 desktops\devices(2 on each machine) in multiple shifts, then can we conclude that respective environment is consuming 150 User CALs and 10 Device CALs(10X2 users), totalling 160 CALs consumed for 170 users? Please suggest if our assumption is correct.
