Trouble with Activation RRS feed

    Ive got a computer with a German version of Windows XP Pro installed on it, the problem was that the key on the disk was no longer in use, so i bought one off the website and used the key conversion program. Now i have the key in the registry but every time i try to validate the program it just brings me back to the screen asking for the Key. Ive only got a few days left on the activation and since im here in germany all the phone #'s are for microsoft germany, and calling the states is a fortune, especially when your going thru an automated system. Anybody have any idea why it wont activate?

    It sounds like you are trying to take the Product Key from and old computer and use it on a new computer...is that correct?

     

    About the Product Key that was on the old computer.....was this Product Key printed on the Certificate of Authenticity that was affixed to the case of the old computer?
