Map Development Kit for Visual Studio Compatibility? RRS feed

  • Ok, so have a really great idea down for a game, I am adding to it daily and I would like to get into development for it as soon as possible. It is 3D orientated and my coding knowledge is average for 3D development in C# XNA 4.0.

    The problem I am facing is map development, I need any software available that supports blender import-ability (for buildings, trees and other scenic features) but will export the map in a format that is compatible with importing into Visual Studio for XNA game development. I am sure this is possible using one large scale model with just blender (as I am sure this is compatible with C#) but I would like to take the quickest and easiest route to completing a map possible.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on software I can use for the specific requirements, I have listed them again in brief below:

    • Allows imports from blender for models (buildings, etc.)
    • Allows exports of maps in a format compatible with C# Visual Studio.

    Any suggestions are welcome, I have been searching through Google for about half and hour now and continue to do so.
