Missed the boat - Microsoft Certs 70-643 & 70-647 Retirement RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I paid to do a full Home college course on MCITP Enterprise Administrator 2008.
I've been busy at work and lazy too..

I hadn't even looked but I've now come to realise that 70-643 and 70-647 are being retired and only have until the end of July to complete them.
I wont lie, I haven't even looked at course materials on these two exams but I may know some of the content through work.

I'm thinking I should just go for broke and take the exams and see how I do, as I have already paid for them. (very unlikely to pass I know)

And how will this affect my overall certification as even If I complete everything else that is required
Will not be able to say I am a fully certified MCITP-EA?

    Thanks

    Phil

  • Hi,

You can also go for the MCSA on Server 2008 certification these are the same exams as you would need for MCITP: Server Administrator but these exams will remain valid for MCSA 2008 after 31 July.

    MCSA: Server 2008: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mcsa-windows-server-2008-certification.aspx#fbid=nTemxTEp9eN

From MCSA 2008 you can upgrade to MCSA: Server 2012 by passing one exam.

Wether or not you should try to the 70-643 and 70-647 exams is something only you can decide.

Altough you cannot achieve MCITP or MCTS certification after 31 July anymore they will still be listed as achieved certification if you pass the exams before 31 July.
