Using CRM on Premise with Exchange Online

Question
-
Dear all,
I have install on premise the CRM workgroup edition 4.0 but now I am using Exchange Online for my company.
Is there a way to use the CRM on premise and be able to connect it to Excchange Online for email ?I have no more Exchange on premise. I have seen that there exist an CRM email router, can it be use for that ?
If yes how can I configure it in order to point to my Exchange on line while my CRM is on my onsite server ?

According to this site, even with CRM 4.0 it should be pretty seamless.
The CRM email router is pretty versitile really, it works with not only Exchange, but also wiith pop3 servers.

Hi Serge,
Exchange Online support was added as an option to the email router in update rollup 7. There's a good guide to configuring it here.

I would think it would easier if not the same effort as Online is more limited. Here is one person that also thinks so.

here is another article that talks about the intergration and doesn't necessarily say it needs to be online or on-premise.

I think this last one is the best through, Donna Edwards (MVP) points out two links here that should have just about what you need.

CRM 4 Email router (UR10 and above) supports both Exchange Online as well as Exchange On-premises (2003, 2007, 2010).
You may find the following two blogs useful.
