trouble exporting to Movie Maker RRS feed

  • Question

  •    Every time I attempt to export a song to Movie Maker, I get the following message: unable to export to start process 'C:/Program files/moviemk.exe. The system cannot find the file specified)). I need a solution to this or I won't be able to make a video. I want to post the lyrics on the video screen so I guess I would have to take an iPhone picture of each lyric page, import it to my computer and then add it any potential videos.

What I've been doing with Songsmith since last August is setting some of my stanza-refrain style poems to music. I'm willing to share some of the audio tracks but I would like to choose which ones because some are better than others. My vocals fall somewhere in the Leonard Cohen/Lou Reed/ Bob Dylan range. That's why I want to post the lyrics on any video I create. Thank you for any help you can give me.

  • Unfortunately, the Movie Maker export built into Songsmith was only compatible with the version of Movie Maker that shipped at the time Songsmith originally shipped.  It's not compatible with the current version of Movie Maker.

However, there's good news: if you export from Songsmith to a .wma file, it's easy to import that into the current version of Movie Maker.  Once you have any images or video in your Movie Maker project you can click "home" --> "add music", then under "add music from your PC", click "add music".  Then select the file you just exported from Songsmith.

The "export to movie maker" feature in Songsmith was really just a shortcut for this.

    Hopefully that helps!
