I am running Windows Live OneCare Version 1.5.1882.4 for AV/FW as suggested from Microsoft Security Center help because McAfee didn't want to work...

Vista installed just on one machine...listed in the SR ticket.

Thanks for any help that you can provide!

We will not be able to follow up with you via your SR request.

The current installation of Windows Vista (RTM - 6000) on your PC is non-genuine, and flagged that way because it is using a BETA (not RTM) Product Key/Product ID (as noted by the Diagnostics data pulled from your PC via the Diagnostics tool).

RTM builds of WIndows Vista do NOT take Beta (RC1/RC2/Beta2/Beta1, etc) product keys without heavy modification to the system integrity and the Product Activation protocols on Windows Vista. This modification (as noted) is dubbed "Frankenbuild" by our internal team.

I'm not sure where you may have recieved these modified bits to have the installation accept the non-RTM product key/productID - where did you get this file from?.

You need to uninstall your "Frankenbuild" of Windows Vista Ultimate RTM.

We will not be able to provide support for modified systems. For complete instructions, please go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click Validate Windows.
