Adding a Button to Case Form RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have written a webservice that closes all of a cases Activities, and then resolves the Case when Invoked.

I now would like to Add a button to the Case form, so I can just click it to do all of this when needed.

    1. Can you add custom buttons to CRM Case forms?

    2. Can I make it so only a certain administrative user or group can see the button?

    Thanks

  • 1. Yes you can add buttons to your CRM form for this purpose you can use Ribbon Editor.

    2. Yes you can also display this button to some specific user or group.
From my point of view The above tool is best for you.

I hope this helps. If my response answered your question, please mark the response as an answer and also vote as helpful.

  • Hello,

You can easily add custom button.I will suggest use this post to add custom ribbon button.

You need to add EnableRule  to enable buttons for certain roles.

    Hope it helps you.

    Regards,

  • This was very helpful. I now have my button and its functionality complete. How can I display this button depending on role?

The reply below works if you can export the solution, however this is a "Managed solution" and I can not export it.

  • I modified the code in the EnableRule mentioned above and instead of editing xml I used the custom enable rule in Ribbon editor to call my code.

    This worked very well.

    Thank you all.

  • Here is a link to a jquery plugin that adds the buttons right on the form itself.
