Samsung 840 EVO SSD Firmware Fix RRS feed

    Apparently, there's a performance bug that can affect Samsung 840 EVO SSDs. Samsung has now issued a firmware fix for it, but I see that the installation software requirements do not mention Windows Server OSes, only Windows 7 and Windows 8.

    Has anyone tried this software fix out on their WHS 2011 system? Thanks.

    Sorry for my delay.

    Based on your description, I navigate to the Download link of that Software and find the User guide of it.

    (Please Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.)

    Read through that User guide, as you said, it didn’t mention Windows Server OS. Meanwhile, I noticed following description in Limitations section in the User guide.

    This software only supports the Windows operating systems listed in the User Manual.

    So, I guess that this Samsung software will not support Windows Server OS. In addition, for this Samsung software, you may be able to contact with Samsung support and confirm this issue.
