  • I have a requirement where my customer want to seaparate out users work in diff diff countries, Like Australian user will not be able to see records of Russian user. My customer consider Australia and Russia as a territory in his business terms.

I have suggested them that we need to configure business unit for this but business is not agree for business units.

They are saying that they dont want business unit in system. achieve the requiremnt through territory.

Please guide me is it possible to acheive this requirement through territory.

If not what is the best way to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I don't think this is possible becaue in CRM security roles and business units are related and there is no relationship between territory and security.

  • As per the previous post, the Business Unit is the only entity that you can use for this. You could rename the entities; for example rename Territory to something else, and rename Business Unit to Territory

  • We have a very similar set up. We use Business Unit for CRM, but everyone understands that "Business Unit" corresponds to Territory.  We did a presentation on security in CRM, about how Security Roles indicate what you can do with a record, but BUsiness Units control what records you can access. Then we explained exactly how we would set up the "Business Units" as their territories, with a top level BU (parent) for admins. I think you just need to sell the idea to them. If they try to accomplish it some other way, I would try to convince them that they should use the Microsoft-supported method for it - Business Units.
