  • Question

  • in 'dsadd user' what are my options for <UserDN> ?

    I see no reference anywhere, but in the examples i see people using cn=, op= dc=

    what do these all meen??

    I need to migrate over 100 localuser names from a 2003 server to 2012 AD, I am banging my head against a wall.

    fyi,  AD is new to me.. i'm old school. Batch scripting i can do.. PS and VB not so much.

  • Here is a great link that explains the format of the Distinguished Name. But its pretty much a full path to any object in AD.

    CN=Commonname

    OU=OrganizationalUnitName

    DC=DomainComponent.
