Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit - all of a sudden not genuine any more? RRS feed

  • Hello all,

    A few days ago my computer gave me the error that "Windows 7 is not genuine" -- or along those lines.
    I tried going to the website that Microsoft gives you to validate it to be genuine - when I used Chrome, it said it wasn't genuine - but when I used IE it said my copy was genuine and was fine.
    I restarted the computer and then I got the same error that my copy of Windows 7 was not genuine, and when I went into IE this time - it said it wasn't genuine.

    I have the original CD and original case and the Product ID and COA. And I didn't have problems until now.

    My dad said it might be a problem because Windows 8 came out recently and a new genuine key update was released? I'm not sure.

    I also restored my computer to a previous system restore point but that didn't help.
