P2P sync stopped working in early August RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been enjoying Live Mesh for a year or more.  However, I just noticed that some P2P folders are not syncing. I just noticed a couple weeks' worth at least of files have not been P2P syncing.
Any reason this might have suddenly happened??

  • I don't know why sync would have stopped so all I can suggest is to submit a bug report. How to submit a bug report with logs - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/LiveMesh/thread/d52b350a-f3e0-41c6-8e78-d6378e566b9e

  • No guarantees, but you might want to take a look at this thread - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/LiveMesh/thread/368288cf-f164-44f4-9d52-f24e10040532 It seems that Piotr poked around and made some edits to the config files based on errors he was seeing and it seemed to help. I've asked the Live Mesh team to look at the thread and comment.

  • I submitted a bug report.

Also... I mention above that Vista64 to Vista 32 P2P stopped working a few weeks ago.
But, syncing the other way (32 to 64) - I see the last sync was about 4 or 5 days ago - placeholders are there but no syncing.

  • Thanks for submitting the bug report. If you feel adventurous, check out that other thread and see if the XML tweaks resolve the issue for you.

  • May just be a coincidence -- but I stopped "Microsoft Security Essentials" on both computers, and they appear to be P2P sync'ing now.

  • I won't rule anything out, of course, but I'm running Live Mesh with Microsoft Security Essentials on a variety of computers and none are experiencing the issue you encountered.
