install everything (SQL + CRM 2013 front end & backend) on same server for small deployment (<100 users)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I just went through the implementation guide and they are 2 options:

    • installing all roles on a single server
    • installing backend and frontend roles on 2 separate servers (probably for huge installation?)

But can I also install SQL Server on the same server as all roles?

    What are pros and cons?

I already performed a full installation of CRM & SQL on the same server, it is working, but is it a good idea?

Thank you and have a nice day

  • Hi,

If you have a High End machine as a server there is no problem to install CRM and SQL on the same machine, but if you have a Standard 4GB machine as a server keep in mind you need to limit the amount of memory your SQL Instance consumes and this might affect CRM performance.
